This private collection of contemporary art is located on two floors of a former factory building. Erika and Rolf Hoffmann, who previously lived in the Rheinland, renovated and remodeled the space in view of living and working with the artworks they had collected over the past thirty years.

Visitors, too, can get a sense of the excitement and challenge the collectors experience in their daily interaction with contemporary art: On Saturdays, the lived-in collection is open to the public, from 11:00 to 16:00, to small groups of visitors (reservation required).

In addition to works by established artists such as Lucio Fontana and Frank Stella, one can encounter paintings, sculptures, woodcuts, photographs, and videos by unknown artists from around the world. Both the selection and the installation reflect the collectors’ personal tastes. Every summer, Erika Hoffmann changes the entire display, rotating the collection and shifting the works around to reveal new relationships and conflicts between works of different generations.Quote_gray
