Sometimes a simple, traditional meal is all we want. And while Lutter & Wegner has a little more class that the typical Berliner Gasthaus, it’s been settled: Lutter & Wegner has the city’s best Wiener schnitzel. A plain dish of pounded and breaded veal can go grossly wrong, but here it is always perfect. If you don’t believe us, take a look around at your fellow diners—their plates (and satisfied smiles) say it all.

Lutter & Wegner also serves up other German and Austrian dishes, but we can only speak for the Wiener schnitzel. With an impressive wine list and a good sommelier to help you find the perfect Gewürztraminer to accompany your schnitzel and warm potato salad, we’ve never craved German food so much.

Ignore the slightly snooty crowd and tourists attempting to pronounce (and in turn, mangling) German menu items and just enjoy the view of the Gendarmenmarkt and your lovely slab of veal.
