Since 1890, Kaffee Burger’s building on Torstrasse, in the heart of Mitte, has been host to a wide variety of patrons. From writers and thinkers to political dissidents in the 1970s, and now home to a changing line-up of parties and performances, Kaffee Burger (named after the Burger family who assumed ownership in the 1930s) offers up various tastes and trends.
Commonly dubbed “the Russian Bar,” events here range from high energy Eastern European dance parties to readings and low-lit evening entertainment. A beloved hangout in the center of the city that’s been building its reputation for quite some time, Burger’s snug and casual digs make for a good place to relax with a beer or get down to some Russian disco.
