Ankerklause is a tiny shack right on top of the Landwehrkanal. Or beneath a bridge. Or beside the Turkish vegetable market. However you want to classify this hidden bar, it’s still an unbeatable Kreuzberg haunt with a classic jukebox and raucous Thursday night dance party.

With both indoor and outdoor seating and drink list accompanied by a short list of Berlin snacks, the bar welcomes seafarers and those just looking to unbutton their collars. Go Captain Kitsch with the maritime inspired interior, or shout ahoy to the cruiseboats passing below. A good place to relax, and also a fine place to paaarrrrrty (paaarrrdon the pirate puns).Quote_gray

Tour de Bear - Berlin

Tour de Bear Berlin by bike

So from here on my best guess is that you will be rather exhausted and the only thing left to do is have a drink. There are plenty of bars in the area, but two I'd recommend are either “Fuchsbau” or “Ankerklause” right on the bridge on Kotbusser Damm. For the real bike Messenger I can recommend the “Franken” a little down the road, a bar that would make CBGB'S (R.I.P.) in NYC proud.
