Established in early 20th century by brothers August and Carl, the “Aschinger” taverns provided both the bohemians and the poor with simple fare and plenty of beer. During the twenties, the corner building on Rosenthaler Platz was a prominent venue for Berlin’s art and cultural avant-garde scene.
Today, in the same building, the hustle and bustle can still be experienced at Sankt Oberholz. The popular cafe downstairs is frequented by locals and visitors alike. Upstairs, two sophisticated apartments offer guests comfort, style and a location where the heart of Berlin Mitte beats.
Characterized by high ceilings and original fittings, the apartments are suffused with light and offer spectacular views. The interiors are a complementary blend of historical and contemporary, with exciting artworks by Berlin artists adorning the walls alongside exquisite antiques. Each apartment can sleep four to six persons, suitable for relaxation or a busy conference.
