Named after the boutique-lined street it is on, the Bleibtreu is a place to truly feel at home in Berlin. The unassuming pavement tables of its deli and bar, a florist specializing in roses and a mortadella terazzo walkway all lead to an open courtyard with a soaring chestnut tree.

An inconspicuous front desk at the back of the building finally confirms that this is indeed a hotel and not a residential townhouse. The Bleibtreu opened in 1995 with the interior designed by Herbert Jacob Weinand and ecologically sound items that were exclusively handcrafted in Germany and Italy. Both the Blue Bar’s hand-knotted carpet and Berlin based artist Elvira Bach’s wall tapestry were manufactured in Ghent and form part of the hotel’s art collection. Specially selected scents give each floor an individual aromatic note.Quote_transparent
