Ulrich Müller founded the Architektur Galerie in Leipzig over a decade ago but quickly moved to Berlin when it became apparent that the capital was home to Germany’s most provocative artists and architects. In 2006 Müller opened the Werkraum to showcase the work of young, conceptual architectural practices and explore the dialogues between contemporary art, architecture and society. The same themes are taken up in publications by the gallery’s small press, which also prints the exhibition catalogs of such recently featured young talents as Simon Ungers and Zurich’s E2A.

The gallery’s white-walled rooms in the base of one of Karl-Marx-Allee’s monumental, historically protected, apartments blocks have become a favorite haunt of local architecture enthusiasts and are now a must-see destination for Berlin’s visiting designerati.
