Ramones Museum

The Ramones Museum—the first and only museum in the world to be solely dedicated to the legendary punk band—was started by a die-hard fan, Florian Hayler. Hayler allegedly attended nothing short of 101 Ramones concerts and after realizing that his home was overflowing with Ramones memorabilia, he decided to get serious and open a museum to house his collection.

While one might think that New York would be a more appropriate setting for this collection, Hayler reminds visitors that Dee Dee Ramone, the songwriter and bassist of the band who died in 2002, spent a significant part of his childhood in Berlin prompting him to later write songs like “Born to Die in Berlin” and “It’s a Long Way Back to Germany.”

Regardless of location, the collection is impressive and expansive, including over 300 posters, shirts, and photographs, as well as Johnny and Joey Ramone’s childhood photographs, early fliers and a history of the Ramones emblem.
