The Quote

The Overkill shop on nearby Köpenicker Straße has opened a little offshoot location “The Quote,” or a simple quotation mark for short, in a rented space inside the Volksbar.

The store won’t send any shock waves through the streetwear community, but it’s pleasant enough. A bit of an odd juxtaposition of sneaker store on the left and café-lounge on the right, Quote makes the dual purposes work surprisingly well together thanks to its choice of decor (1960s vintage, foosball table, huge art deco clock, boomboxes right out of the ‘90s). An exposed brick wall showcases the usual rubbery display of Nikes and Reeboks. More exclusive styles from Creative Reaction and some trendy-looking Dasslers (Rudolf Dassler, that is) are also available, along with printed t-shirts and windbreakers in color combinations carved straight out of a rainbow.
