Galerija Gregor Podnar was originally founded in 2003 in Slovenia and after much success, its eponymous owner moved westward and opened a second space in Berlin in 2007.

With a focus on eastern European artists, the gallery has followed the careers of such artists as Irwin, Yuri Leiderman, Vadim Fiškin and Dan Perjovschi. Additionally, with their expansion they have also widened their program to include a younger, more international group of artists like Alexander Gutke, Magnus Larsson and Ariel Schlesinger. Given their international collaboration with many museums and galleries, the gallery is highly respected and regularly participates in the most renowned art fairs.
