Yes, the Segway has made it to Germany. And whereas Americans are good at looking foolish on these motorized walkers on wheels, the Germans have organized full out tours.
Tourists band into a gang of Segways. Tours start in front of the Reichstag. Three different tours are offered lasting 1, 2 or 3 hours.
If you go for the three hour tour, they equip you with a Cruso GPS navigating device, which tells you everything about the highlights of the tour in German or English.
Germany still hasn’t given the Segway an official certification, so no solo rides. But the tours got off the ground, and you can check out Berlin with your feet off the ground as well.
