Poles melt, hurricanes speed up and deserts spread—despite what some politicians say, it’s more than clear that the climate change is happening right now.
The topic of this year’s transmediale is about the need for a massive shift in the cultural perception of nature and technology. Titled DEEP NORTH – Climate Change as Global Cultural Change, this international festival for art and digital culture opens its doors on January 27, 2009 at the House of World Cultures.
The highlight of the festival will be the awarding of the transmediale Award 2009, which will be accompanied by dozens of lectures, performances, concerts, screenings and exhibitions. But we understand that it’s easy to lose focus when flooded with tons of events, so we’ve handpicked our favorites for your scoping-out pleasure.
