Festival of Lights: Berlin Alight

If you’ve looked up at the TV tower and wondered why it’s been glowing in neon colors these past couple of days, we have your answer: Berlin’s Festival of Lights show. From October 14th to the 25th, the city will be splashed with various light shows, fireworks and light-related events.

Coincidentally, the exhibition Berlin im Licht (Berlin Alight) celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Märkisches Museum through tracing the history of artificial light and its impact on the city over the past century.

Given the Berlin’s rich history of art and culture, particularly in film and theater, artificial light enabled an unrivaled creativity and media exploration. If you haven’t caught the exhibition yet, stop by on the night of the 18th when the museum stays open until midnight and other late-night events throughout the city explode.
