TV on the Radio
Music, Nov 25, starts at 20:00 h
They’re baaaack. Those who were shut out of TV on the Radio’s sold-out gig at Roter Salon this September can catch them for their return performance in Berlin. Due encore!
After their critically-applauded 2006 album Return to Cookie Mountain, TV on the Radio followed up with their much-anticipated fourth album, Dear Science, which dropped on September 23rd. Extolled for their moody, expansive brand of noise, the group’s range is undefinable: punk, orchestral notes, chanting and tambourines all swirl together to mesmerizing effect. The result is sexy, feel-good music—the kind that makes you want to put your arms up around your head and swagger across the dancefloor (or in your bedroom).
If the band’s name still doesn’t ring a bell, that song Staring at the Sun should, as it experienced more requisite playtime at bars than The Knife’s “Heartbeats”. Hear it live when TVOTR plays at SO36 tonight.
