Baltimore-based freak-pop group, Animal Collective, lands in Berlin for a night of psychedelic clubbing at Berghain. The group, comprised of four members—Avey Tare (David Portner), Panda Bear (Noah Lennox), Deakin (Josh Dibb) and Geologist (Brian Weitz)—has released seven wildly different yet equally sonically challenging albums since their formation in 2000.
Their latest release, Strawberry Jam (Domino Records), is appropriately deliciously sticky and sweet, with mashed-up elements of psych-rock, noise, pop, fringe folk and other “jamming” tunes.
The group is notorious for irreverently playing what they feel like—so prepare yourself to be unprepared for a wild night of head banging and out of body experiences.
