This is the new sub-label under the roof of Karaoke Kalk. Pascal Schäfer, who has already released his recent debut album ‘Dawn’ as well as his 2003 EP ‘Melody Express’ on Karaoke Kalk, started the Kalk Pets series with his ‘Rythmes EP’. The three tracks are called ‘Mystére’, ‘Poupée’ and ‘L’orgue’ and take up roughly where ‘Melody Express’ ended. Kalk Pets establishes another platform for the artists already known from Karaoke Kalk, with their unique idea of music and characteristic complexity. In addition, Kalk Pets opens up new possibilities for the label itself, offering a brand name saying: somehow kalk-ish, yet definitely meant and made for the dancefloor. However, it’s not only some of the well known Karaoke Kalk acts who will be appearing on the occasional Kalk Pets releases – there’ll certainly be others as yet unknown as well as familiar names like Antonelli, Daniel Meteo, Donna Regina and Paul Frick.
