Swedish composer Sven-Åke Johansson opens the Echtzeitmusik festival in style tonight at Sophiensaele.

Since the late ‘60s Johansson has been heavily involved with the development of the free jazz and improv scenes, performing with countless collaborators—including Alexander von Schlippenbach—using pretty much every kitchen utensil you can think of along with other oddities such as foam and phone books to generate his unique percussive effects.
