This Sunday sees Berlin’s first ever ‘Fahrrad Kino’ debut at the intimate surroundings of the Jacki Terasse. In conjunction with Goldsprint and Radsammler, Berlin based record Klasse Recordings brings you a day of bicycle themed moving images, roller racing, BBQ food and drink and (of course) music.
Premiering at the festival will be the documentary B.I.K.E, directed by Jacob Sepitmus and Anthony Howard B.I.K.E is a gritty and visually stylistic film. The documentary is a depiction of the Brooklyn chapter of the Black Label Bike Club (BLBC), a fringe network of tall bike jousters that combine and justify their medieval inspired competitions with environmentalist and anti-consumerist rhetoric and politically radical ideals.
Alongside the exclusive premier will be a show reel of bike related film shorts, submitted by the New York based production company—Studio Number Nine.
Throughout the day the Berlin frame building experts Goldsprint will be providing a roller racing competition. Roller racing pits cyclists against each other, connecting the two bicycles to an electronic timing system, resulting in a frantic and exciting race to the finish.
