Inaugural Evening of the Club Transmediale with performances by Jakob Kirkegaard (Berlin) “Sabulation”, Transforma “Self-titled” (Berlin) & Hiroaki Umeda (Tokio) “Adapting for Distortion” …
The interaction of sound, light and motion is also on the agenda for the performances that will be shown at the inauguration of the 10th Club Transmediale in the context of CONTEXT. The sound artist Jacob Kirkegaard explores the acoustic phenomenon of “singing sand”. The group of artists Transforma keeps track of the process of producing images in their own atelier and turns them into abstract visual worlds. And the Japanese dancer and choreographer Hiroaki Umeda presents a minimalist solo on an abstract light animation.
CONTEXT #7 takes a closer look at how emotions and attitudes are being staged with the means of the theatre. The main focus is on dance productions, performances and installations that reflect on strategies of producing and manipulating affects.
