Creating works that are often as sexually explicit and provocative as their collective name, the three artists behind Cum* (Lieven Deconinck, Robin De Vooght and Gäetan Begerem) met on the streets of Ghent in 2002.

Beginning with a stencil of a pin-up girl and poking fun at contemporary representation of females in pornography, Cum* has since branched out, shooting their tongue-in-cheek viewpoints towards various aspects of popular culture and their representations in the media, turning “trashy” low culture elements, like tabloid magazine covers, into the basis for high culture iconography.
