KW’s mega early-summer line up splits the museum into three spaces, each devoted to an artist’s single show. Here’s what you can look forward to.
Sergei Jensen not only uses linen, jute, second-hand textiles and other colorful fabrics for the bases of his paintings, but he also deploys the materials to inform the painting’s content. Holes, stains, other wares and tares along with pigment, wool and bleach make up his dynamic paintings—which are then subjected to the elements for years, allowing rain, dust and sun to patina the surfaces.
The young Annette Kelm creates work on often simple motifs, photographing singular, simple objects against a white cosmic background. Minimal at heart, her photographs focus on composition and format.
Last but not least, Wolfgang Breuer has created an installation in conjunction with the current credit crisis, titled Organic Food Shop . We can’t tell you too much more about it, though—you have to experience it for yourself.
