Andy Warhol made his films almost specifically to be screened in theaters, but how would the work of someone like Joseph Beuys impact an audience if shown in a cinema instead of on a loop at galleries?
This semi-regular event (organized by gallerist Olaf Stüber and collector Ivo Wessel) is an exercise in determining appropriate settings to “exhibit” video art by taking the medium out of its element and plunking it in the middle of the mainstream: in a cinema.
