From the 4th to the 28th of December, The Deutsches Theater will hold court at Berghain. Between the concrete pillars of these industrial ruins, a theatre stage will host August Strindbergs Ein Traumspiel, directed by Barrie Kosky. In this piece, Agnes, daughter of the gods, descends from heaven to experience what it’s like to be human.

The Australian Barrie Kosky—future intendant of Berlin’s Komische Oper, where he recently staged Die Hochzeit des Figaro and Iphigenie auf Tauris—tells the story of this dreamlike voyage with a large cast and ethereal music sung by the Vocalconsort of Berlin.Quote_transparent
