DESCRIPTION:Tilsiter Lichtspiele\nRichard-Sorge-Strasse 25a \n10249 Berlin\
nPhone: +49304268129\n\nFor the next two weeks co-directors Eddy Moretti an
d Suroosh Alvi’s first feature film documentary\, Heavy Metal in Baghdad
screens at Tilsiter Lichtspiele. For three years Moretti and Alvi followed
Iraqi heavy metal band Acrassicauda\, documenting the group’s near inconc
eivable rise to fame as playing heavy metal in a Muslim country seemed almo
st possible.\n\n\n	From their die-hard fanbase to the daily bombings in Bag
hdad\, the group has two goals: staying alive and playing music. Inspired f
rom the Latin word for one of the most dangerous black scorpions commonly f
ound in Iraqi deserts\, Acrassicauda—and the resulting film—offers insi
ght into the daily struggles for freedom in Baghdad. Perhaps the most telli
ng fact of all: all four band members now live in Istanbul\, Turkey.\n\n
