Last Saturday night saw new creative platform MADE launch with a bang. The brainchild of TadiROCK and a group of hip creatives who shared the vision to create an inspiring environment with the freedom to exchange ideas, work with people from different disciplines, embrace the new and make things happen.
Following a brief introduction to the MADE project, the well dressed crowd were treated to a delightful once-only performance from Amor & Pysché. Specifically choreographed for and about the MADE space, the dance took entertainment to exhilarating heights. Audience members became part of the ever-changing environment, responding to and interacting with the dancers, the moving furniture and one other. Incorporating aspects of the adaptive architecture, it also well illustrated the capabilities of the ingenious space.
The evening continued with the unveiling of “SNOWGLOBE” by Yoske Nishiumi & Alex Flach, the first project to come out of MADE. Two giant clear snowglobes invited one person (or more often two of three) to sit inside and experience a miniature scene of Toyko and Berlin. One could witness the familiar Berlin environment including the iconic Umsonstladen of Brunnenstrasse or in the adjacent globe a typical Japanese local store, complete with magazines and candy in vending machines.
If the evening and these projects are any indication of the diversity, innovation and quality we can expect, this progressive platform is definitely set to make waves and be the place where extraordinary things are MADE.
